Hi !fname,
This is Terry Johnson from 60MT. I would like you to pay special attention to these questions that we receive
every day...
Subscribers are continuously asking me how they can make everyday money via the financial markets.
Questions like:
"Terry, I would like to start daytrading, but I have NO idea how to do it properly. Is it really possible to make
consistent daily profits via a computer screen and a broker's tradestation?"
"Terry, the news, my friends, my family keep telling me it's too risky. But, I know people must be doing it
correctly. Is it possible to find a "NO hype" way to make more than I lose thru daytrading?
If you're confused by those two questions, YOU'RE NOT ALONE...
Many people have been mislead by hype and get-rich-quick schemes. Over and over again they fall into these traps, and
wonder why.

eBay Source for Papal Memorabilia
The recent death of Pope John-Paul II and the election of Cardinal Ratzinger as Pope Benedict XVI seems to have boosted the incomes of quite a few eBay sellers. As the bells tolled in St Peters Square and the Cardinal stood on the balcony and boomed the name
"Ratzinger!" to the waiting crowds, many eBay sellers were stocking up and getting their calculators out. Many Germans, startled that a German has become the Supreme Pontiff, are ransacking their
homes looking for anything to do with Ratzinger, in the hopes that they have something suddenly valuable.

Where individuals dare
The
Asian Age India | Suhel Seth
In a country where we have shameless
and depraved politicians like Lalu Prasad Yadav, members of
Parliament who think it more fashionable to disrupt than run
Parliament, and bureaucrats who are busy siphoning off relief funds
for their own gains, there is a silver lining for all of us to see.
Nine months ago, I was invited to
become a trustee of the Ila Trust. The patron of the trust, till
then, was Dr Manmohan Singh, our present Prime Minister (for those
of you who don't know) and the trust was doing some phenomenal work
albeit without the rabble rousing that today's help organisations
are more known by.
There were no fund-raisers for the
Umang kind of body: no gala balls at palatial homes, but just
hardcore work. Which is why I agreed. I did not want to be part of
yet another Delhi society diversion. Which is what most social work
in this city is all about. There are more social workers than people
who need genuine help and almost all these organisations are funded
as if they were saving the world.
They will go to any extent. From art
auctions to plays to the most prized event: a dinner at some seedy
high commissioner or ambassador's house just so that you can then
tell Kuku that you went to a diplomatic dinner. So amongst all this
fraud and hype, there are organisations like the Ila Trust doing
some splendid work, and I am not saying this because I am a part of
it. I am saying this because the success of the Ila Trust has
nothing to do with people like me. We, at the most, are mere
bystanders. The credit for this must go to the formidable Reeta Dev
Varma who despite her royal lineage hasn't gotten into polo or
tailoring, but has instead focused on what real India really needs.
I spent a morning with her last week,
which was truly an eye-opener. I come from Kolkata and one has been
involved, over the years, with the Missionaries of Charity and seen
the kind of work they do. The editor of this paper is involved with
a Muslim orphanage in Kolkata; I guess that has a lot to do with the
way people treat social work and its loose interpretations in Delhi.
Reeta works in several areas of Old Delhi, amongst which is the
famed G.B. Road, and it is here where you see human tragedy unfold
in its brutal entirety. Here are sex-workers living in squalor with
no one from the state willing to help him or her as long as
comfortable exploitation continues.
But Reeta rightly believes it is not
her duty to be a social reformist, which is why instead of moral
preaching, what she does is get an ambulance with competent (and
selfless) doctors who administer medicines, which should be the duty
of the government hospital which is barely a kilometre away. But
then given the state of our government hospitals, it is
understandable why every morning there is a queue of almost 200
people who are willing to receive anything that Reeta gives them:
from old clothes to biscuits to much-valued medicines.
But the key distinction is that she
does not do it as if she were doing charity. The difference between
her and the pearl-chiffon brigade is that Reeta has already become a
part of them. She is family only because in her mind it is not about
they needing our help. It is about us helping each other: a facet
that is sorely missing from most help organisations. Only because I
am a great believer that it is individuals who drive change and not
some esoteric body.
I am certain there are many Reetas.
They should be or else the social fabric of this country will
crumple with ease. But it is these Reetas who need our support. Who
need our involvement. Till I made the visit, I was an armchair
philanthropist of sorts. A complete hypocrite, but this one visit
changed all that. Because it is only when you see that little child
who has lost all hope from life at the age of four or five, you
worry about the kind of nation you are leaving behind. While
scoundrels and thieves sit in our Cabinets and in our governments,
it is these children who are being robbed of their destiny.
I do not think Reeta is attempting to
alter destiny. Nor is she hoping to change the world. But what she
is doing is exemplifying individual zeal. When I bid her goodbye at
the ambulance that by then had been surrounded, I thought to myself,
it must take great character and even greater conviction to do this
every morning, day after day, without even a hint of complaint. This
country desperately needs more Reetas. And if there are many, as I
am sure there are, it is our duty to write about them, to support
them, to involve ourselves with them and to understand and respect
their perspective. For far too long, the wrong kind of people have
given fellow-help a bad name.

EVERETT
AUCTIONS AUTOBIOGRAPHY
British actor RUPERT
EVERETT is auctioning off publishing rights to his upcoming
autobiography. The 45-year-old MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING star has high
hopes for the tome, his third literary effort. Everett's literary
agent ED VICTOR says, "Rupert wants the book to be a
contemporary version of DAVID NIVEN's THE MOON'S A BALLOON.
"He's taken the unorthodox step of requesting to meet every
publisher taking part in the auction. So he's flying over to London
from Miami tomorrow (04MAY05)."As the book is not
ghost-written, it's very much a personal project for him."And
he promises fans will be enthralled with Everett's tales:
"Rupert's led a pretty colorful life. He's best mates with MADONNA
and fantastically well-connected, so there'll be some great stuff in
there. "Added to which, it's some of the best writing I've seen
in years: both witty and profound at the same time."

The
Positive Club
The Magic Ingredient
It happens every day. My dentist
relayed to me recently that he was about
to hire a new member for his office
staff. I’ve narrowed the applicants
down to the final four, he offered,
and have pretty much decided who it
will be. How’d you decide? I asked.
His reasoning was simple. It echoed
the results of a nation-wide survey
of business hiring executives reported
in the Wall Street Journal not too
long ago. You see, everyone’s looking
for it. It has incredible value. We
like, love, and respect people who
have it. It’s results seem almost
magical. If you’ve already got it, you
know it (and are undoubtedly reaping
the benefits). If not, you also know
it. The good new is, it doesn’t
depend on how well you did in school,
doesn’t take years to develop, nor
cost a bunch of money. What is it?
Attitude.
Attitude is a reflection of the
person inside. And while the external
circumstances in your life might go
crazy from time to time, you can
always chart your own path by
grabbing onto a great attitude. Viktor
Frankl, psychologist and survivor of
the holocaust in World War II,
observed the following: We who lived
in concentration camps can remember
the men who walked through the huts
comforting others, giving away their
last piece of bread. They may have
been few in number, but they offer
sufficient proof that everything can
be taken from a man but one thing:
the last of the human freedoms- to
choose one’s attitude in any given set
of circumstances, to choose one’s
own way.
Are you getting the results you
want?
Think about it. Having a great
attitude is not the result of having a
great life; having a great life is
the result of having a great attitude.
Until next time,
