Discount In Glasgow, Sell Your House On The Internet, Improve
Your Professionalism
It’s
Peter Parfait, with further selected, well filtered, investigated
and recommended property opportunities for you.
The first is courtesy of Mark Sawyer of The Property Association.
Mark explains:
Glasgow Off-Plan Development
Following
the complete sell-out of our recent Glasgow announcements, we
have another superb new opportunity just east of the city.
This is a really low-money-down deal, requiring just £7,500
in up-front funds with nothing further to pay until the
end of next
year. Once again, this property represents truly affordable
housing for either buy-to-sell or buy-to-let.
The development of 248 two-bedroom and 5 three-bedroom penthouse
apartments is on the edge of Glasgow city centre. 112 of these
have been allocated to The Property Association at a discount of
15% off the current market value. The market values have been endorsed
by two of the largest firms of RICS surveyors in Scotland. The
contracts are fully assignable prior to completion, and for those
wishing to let their property, rental coverage of borrowing should
be easily achievable.
Glasgow is currently undergoing a compete transformation as a residential
destination. This residential regeneration began in the housing
boom of the late 1980's with the creation of an area within the
city centre called the Merchant City. This saw the first development
of new homes in Glasgow aimed at the young executive market and
by the early to mid 1990's the Merchant City had become established
as the core residential district of Glasgow. In 1999 Glasgow was
awarded the title of Year Of Architecture And Design and from this
point to the present day there has been an explosion in residential
development in the city centre.
Grahams Yard lies immediately adjacent on the east of the Merchant
City, next to the Monument and between other successful developments,
such as Dennistoun Village and Silvergrove. Grahams Yard therefore
offers a location which is comfortably within walking commuting
distance of the core retail and office districts of Glasgow at
a level which is more in line with affordability level based on
the average salary income in west central Scotland.
Most
of these new developments have been in the region of £200
- £250 per sq ft with high-spec fit-outs and achieving prices
in the region of £200,000 and upwards. The average discounted
price for this property is a stunning £178
per square foot. The prices include parking, and
in addition
to a
high specification,
all units have fitted wardrobes and an en-suite
master bedroom.

A Low-Cost Way To Improve Your Professionalism - Recommended New
Service
Whenever we write we do so for a purpose; whether to entertain,
to inform, to enquire, or perhaps simply to sell. The greatest
mistake that writers make, particularly those who lack practice,
is to use long or unusual words and a complex sentence structure
born of a desire to impress.
Yet nothing is more impressive than a piece
of plain English which communicates its message
clearly, and
in a way which
is easy for
the reader to understand. Lord Macaulay once
wrote - “The
words employed should be such as to convey to the reader the meaning
of the writer”. Nothing more, nothing
less. Sloppy English suggests sloppy business.
The
reason for clumsy writing is more often a lack of time than any
lack of ability on
the
part of
the writer.
People
are simply
too busy running their business to devote
hours to writing professionally. Now there’s a new service that can help – The Queen’s
English. Originator Martin Helm explains:
I
have just started a business whose aim is to provide a service
to all those who
need
to communicate
clearly
through
the written
word. At its simplest, this service comprises
proof reading and spell checking, as
well as correction
of grammar
and punctuation. The most valuable feature,
however, will be
to re-write documents
in plain English so as to convey the
writer’s
message in a way which enhances their
professionalism.
So many businesses compromise that professionalism with poorly
written text, be it in brochures, proposals to investors, or on
their web-sites. All because they may not have the time to get
it right.
First impressions do still count! Indeed,
many of these companies’ potential
customers will be well-educated people
who could be irritated by what they perceive
as sloppy
communication. Why spend
thousands of pounds on a prestigious
website, for instance,
only to destroy
that investment with bad spelling and
grammar?
Who
Is This Service Aimed At? Anybody who uses the written word to
communicate,
explain
or
persuade is a potential
customer for
our service. That would include everybody
who either advertises or produces written
documents.
Owners
and creators of web-sites
will benefit, as will those who produce
proposal documents for investors or
lenders. They
all know their business
far better
than I ever could, but I can put it
into the right words whilst preserving
the writer’s individual style
and tone.

Never
let the 5% that’s wrong – outweigh the 95% that’s
right!
I was running one of my open seminars recently on accelerating
your business and personal growth.
One of the Delegates, Michael Ashby-Arnold came up to me in one
the break and shared an expression that I really enjoyed.
“
Never let the 5% that’s wrong outweigh the 95% that’s
right!”
Now that really struck a chord for me.
How many times, I thought to myself, have I been guilty of letting
this happen? Far too many times - was my ‘internal’ reply.
Perhaps it’s just a human trait – I heard myself say.
Trying to excuse my behaviour.
But – on the other hand – perhaps it’s a trait
I could well do without.
I wonder why it is that people do this? They focus on the little
bit, the negative, the stuff that goes wrong – rather than
taking pleasure, joy and inspiration from all that stuff that goes
right.
From now on – I’m going to look at life in a different
way – and be pleased, be focused and be inspired by all the
brilliant stuff that happens – instead of allowing that 5%
to be at the forefront of my attention.
Now that doesn’t mean that you and I should not take a look
at the 5% and see what can be learned from it – of course
not. That’s a worthwhile exercise.
But – let’s have more 95% and enjoy it!
