“I’ve been doing what you told me!”

I’ve always been a fan of Deepak Chopra – loving his message, his ideas and the mellifluous voice in which he delivers them.

Some years ago I listened to him describing why it was essential that we ‘spend’ some of our money. Spend it so that it helps the world go round and creates a vacuum so that more money can flow to us.

Now he wasn’t advocating that we avoid saving money and earning interest – no! Simply that to get more money it’s essential to create that vacuum to attract it.

I’d explained this concept to my wife.

In those days I was often away - speaking almost every week at a conference or seminar – and naturally I’d phone Sharon, my wife, to see how her day had been.

One day – I called and in my response to my oft ask question, “Hi darling, what have you been doing today” Her reply (loaded with Deepak’s idea was) “I’ve been vacuuming!”

I just had to laugh.

And within that laughter there is still the serious point isn’t there?

Sometimes what we want to attract is what we have to give away in order to create the vacuum..
